Madeline Davis

MARION, VIRGINIA: MADELINE COPENHAVER DAVIS, age 87, widow of Roy N. Davis, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Marion Pilot Club, and a member of the Marion Chapter #72 of the order Eastern Star. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney D. and Evie Crouse Copenhaver; one sister, Emma Wechsler; two brothers, Roger D. Copenhaver Sr. and Charles Copenhaver; and an infant baby brother. She is survived by four nieces, Janice Kurtz of Galax, Virginia, C.J. Copenhaver, Deb Harlan and Helen Richardson all of Marion, Virginia; four nephews, Donald Wechsler of Lynchburg, Virginia, Kenny Copenhaver of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Curtis Copenhaver of Charlotte, North Carolina and Dr. Roger Copenhaver of Murphy, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Maxine Davis of Marion Virginia. She is also survived by her extended family, caregivers at Francis Marion Manor. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
