Malcolm Brown

MARION, VIRGINIA: MALCOLM M. BROWN, JR, age 81 died Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born November 29, 1923 in Marion, Virginia to the late Dr. Malcolm M. and Maude Seaver Brown. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, Marion, Virginia, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Smyth County Shrine Club. Malcolm was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and Cincinnati College of Embalming. He was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in his family funeral home for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Irene Preston Brown of Marion, Virginia; One daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Pat Rankin of Marion, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Mal and Sharon Brown of Marion, Virginia; Two grandchildren, Malcolm M. Brown, IV and Emily Claire Rankin. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Jeff Lambert and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
