Marcia Burnett

Marcia Burnett age 74, went home to the Lord Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn.

She was born in Dayton, Ohio – the daughter of the late John and Norma Terrell. Marcia obtained her Bachelor’s in Education at the University of Dayton and her Master’s of Education at Clemson University. She devoted her life to teaching and retired from Marion Senior High School. During her retirement years, she spent her time in her flower beds, making beautiful quilts, and enjoying her moments as a grandmother. Marcia was seen often enjoying lunch with friends or at a quilting guild. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Marcia attended all her granddaughters school and sporting events. She was a great friend to those who knew her and she will be missed by those who loved her.

Marcia is survived by her son, Jonathan Burnett; granddaughters, Kassidy and Madeline, all of Marion, Va.; and beloved dog Bella.

To honor her wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family invites you to please privately celebrate her life and memory in your own ways. We know she will be with us all in spirit.
