ROANOKE, VIRGINIA: MARGARET JARVIS-SPRINGER, 61, of Roanoke, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Springer, as well as her mother, Eva Cox Jarvis. Survivors include her father, Thomas Elmer Jarvis of Chilhowie; brothers, Tom and Linda Jarvis of Madison, Alabama, Danny and Rhonda Jarvis of Bristol, Jeff Jarvis of Sugar Grove; and sister, Louise Jarvis-Shearer of Fairfax. She was deeply loved by her nieces and nephews and special friends, Bill Golding and Lori Jarvis. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, at Oakey's South Chapel in Roanoke with a funeral service to follow at 3:30 p.m. with Dr. John DeVerter officiating. Oakey's South Chapel will be serving the Springer Family in the Roanoke area. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bradley Free Clinic, 1240 3rd Street, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24016 or Roanoke Rotary Club of Roanoke, 404 Campbell Avenue, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24016. Additional services will be conducted on Monday, January 19, at Sugar Grove Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:15 with the Rev. Billy Gwinn officiating. Burial will take place at the Hutton-Cox Family Cemetery in Sugar Grove. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the Family at www.seaverbrown.com.
