Margaret "P-Nut" Ruth Harris

Damascus, Va.

Margaret “P-Nut” Ruth Harris age 73, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.

Margaret was a loving lady – it just poured out of her in everything she did. For 40 years she was a Master Seamstress and trainer who fought for her employees. Margaret was the co-owner of Bobby’s Printing for 20 years and enjoyed being around people. When she wasn’t working, she loved cooking, planting flowers, singing karaoke, or dancing to her favorite 50’s, 60’s and beach music. P-Nut loved the beach and summer sun, but her favorite holiday was Christmas and she was a wonderful decorator. Margaret loved her grandchildren and they were crazy about their meemaw. Margaret’s faith was deep and she loved worshipping for many years with Chilhowie First Church of God. Heaven’s a little brighter today because of Margaret.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Ruth Patton; husband, Joseph “Bobby” Harris; sisters, Shelia Rouse and Martha Anderson.

Margaret is survived by her son, Stan Doyle and wife, Karen of Rural Retreat, Va.; special friends, Terry and Debbie Turnmire of Damascus, Va.; grandchildren, Madison Doyle of Marion, Va., Bailey Doyle and significant other, Cheyenne of Rural Retreat, Va., Dalton Kegley and significant other, Tatum of Dallas, Ga.; great-granddaughter, Caroline Grace (she loved to the moon and back); nephews, Don Rouse and wife, Hope of Marion, Va. and Matt Anderson and wife, Rena of Glade Spring, Va.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery.
