Marion Va: Margaret Elmore Roberts, 91, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at her residence.
She was born on November 3, 1924 in Saltville, Va. to the late Henry and Nannie Davidson Elmore. Mrs. Roberts was retired from Parks and Belk Department store after 42 years of faithful and dedicated service and has been a member of the First Church of God in Marion for 60 plus years. Margaret and Roy were two of the most faithful people within the community and the church that anyone could meet! She will certainly be missed!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Roy Gillespie Roberts; two sisters, Bertha Musselwhite and Louise Surber; and brother, Charles Elmore.
Family remaining to cherish her memory include her brother, Robert Elmore and wife, Mildred of Chilhowie; and two nieces, Cosby Dean and husband, Bill of Yorktown, Va., and Peggy Gillen of Saltville.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Charlie Walker officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown chapel.
Interment will be conducted on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va.
