MARION, Va.
Margaret White Poore Roe, age 84, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va.
She was born June 3, 1932 in Saltville, Va. to the late Harvey Russell and Hazel Myrtle Keesee Poore. Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. Above all, she was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and was honored to proclaim His love to all she met. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Ernest Gilmer Roe; son, John Ray Roe; brothers, Robert Pal Poore, Harvey Russell Poore, Jr., and Joseph Toby Poore; sister, Doskie Poore Woodward; and grandson, Shane Paul Roe.
Margaret is survived by three daughters, Flafua Roe Browne of Kissimmee, Fla., Cathy Roe Felshaw of Cartersville, Ga. and Micky Roe Breeding and husband, Joe of Aurora, Colo.; son, Ernest Gilmer Roe, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Kissimmee, Fla.; sister, Violet Thomas of Chilhowie, Va.; brothers, Roy “Cubby” Poore and John Poore and wife, Phyllis, all of Baltimore, Md.; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Dr. Charles Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Cemetery, Chilhowie, Va. The family will receive friends Monday, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
