Marlene P. Murray

MARION, Va.

Marlene P. Murray, age 85, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 at her home.

Marlene was born May 11, 1932 in Smyth County to the late John Preston and Florence Minnie Bowman Pruitt. She served the Marion and Smyth County community for over 30 years as an accountant at Marlene's Tax Service. She loved and was loved by her family, friends, and clientele. Marlene will certainly be missed.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Murray.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Tammy Murray Harrison of Marion, Va.; grandson, Trevor Richardson of Johnson City, Tenn.; brother, Kenneth Pruitt of Leola, Pa.; special friends, Misty Deskins of Abingdon, Va. and Mildred "Mickey" Glass of Marion, Va.; loving caregivers, Shirley and Mary Glass; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special thank you to Home Health & Hospice of Chilhowie, Va. for their loving care during the time it was needed.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Rural Retreat, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
