MARION, VIRGINIA: MARY M. CARTER, age 82, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia.
She was born April 18, 1932 to the late Standford W. and Emmalina Moore Mooney. Her thoughts and prayers were always for her family. She was a long standing member of Russell's Chapel in Marion, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, William D. Testerman, James V. Testerman and Tonya M. Leonard; her adopted parents, Austin and Liza Parks,
her first husband, Elmer Vaughn Testerman, her second husband, C.F. Carter and third husband, Sweet Blevins.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her step-mother, Margaret Mooney of Bluefield, Virginia; one daughter, Teresa D. Thomas of Marion, Virginia; two sons, Elmer R. Testerman and wife Karen of Omaha, Nebraska and Edgar E. Testerman and wife Kathy of Speedwell, Virginia; one special son-in-law, James Leonard of Marion, Virginia; several half-brothers and sisters, several step-children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of her life will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Herman Cress officiating. Burial will follow in Slemp Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00 a.m until time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
