BRISTOL, Va.

Mary “Chunk” Anderson Dixon, age 76, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Bristol, Va.

Chunk loved her family fiercely. She was crazy about her children and grandchildren. Chunk loved the Lord, family, and BINGO. She enjoyed caring for people when she was nursing. Her laugh, personality, love and friendship will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dixon, Sr.; daughter, Mary P. Dixon; and parents, Bruce and Pauline Anderson.

Chunk is survived by her daughters, Carla Grier and husband, Wilbert of Bristol, Va., Lynn Collins and husband, Alex of Chilhowie, Va., Shelby Dixon of Bristol, Tenn., and Tia Dixon of Bristol, Va.; son, Henry Dixon, Jr. of Bristol, Tenn.; sisters, Donna Anderson of Marion, Va., Deborah Calloway of Roanoke, Va., Regina Roberts and Karen Anderson, both of Marion, Va.; brother, Todd Anderson of Marion, Va.; many other sisters and brothers in Tennessee and Georgia; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion Milo.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Lance Turner officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Burial will be private.
