MISS MARY JANE MCGLOTHLIN, age 76, died Friday, December 31, 2010 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was born September 23, 1934 in Pulaski, Virginia to the late William Bates and Mary Lawrence McGlothlin. She was a member of the Marion Baptist Church. Mary Jane was a graduate of Marion High School and the Nursing School in Grundy, Virginia where she received her L.P.N. She worked for many years as an L.P.N. at Smyth County Community Hospital. Mary Jane was a wonderful, fun and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews and she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them and their families. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" McGlothlin, Jr. and Jackie L. McGlothlin; one sister, Donna Jo McGlothlin Harrington; a nephew, Jackie L. McGlothlin. She is survived by one brother-in-law, Paul D. Harrington of Burlington, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Peggy McGlothlin of Roanoke, Virginia; two aunts, Margaret Jarrells of Roanoke, Virginia and Pearl Andrews of Cape Coral, Florida; a very special cousin, who was more like a devoted brother, Rhea Lawrence and wife, Marie of Marion, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Private burial will be held in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the McGlothlin Family.
