Mary Stambaugh

MARION, VIRGINIA: MARY ELIZABETH STAMBAUGH, age 82, died Friday, February 27, 2004 at her home. Born on July 1st, 1921 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Mary Young Stambaugh. She served in the United States Navy during World War II and had lived in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands where she worked in the Business Department of the Buccaneer Hotel for 30 years. Mary was an avid tennis player and golfer in her younger years and had traveled extensively all over the world and was a photographer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Stambaugh and Marcus Milton Stambaugh, and a sister, Grace Stambaugh Dalton. Surviving are one sister-in-law, Helen Boyd Stambaugh of Marion. Two nieces, Sallie Stambaugh Lefler and husband, William P. Lefler of Marion and Linda Stambaugh Palmer of Los Angeles, CA. Three great-nieces and one great-nephew, B.J. Lefler Roberson, Sallie Lefler Moss, Marian Durell Lefler and Shaun Marcus Lefler. A Family Memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon , February 29th at 3:00 p.m. at the home at 312 Wassona Circle conducted by the Rev. Neville Mozingo.
