MARION, VIRGINIA: MAUDE PEAK WINESETT, died Saturday, April 5, 2014 in Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee.
She was born October 1, 1918 in Grayson County, Virginia. She was owner of Maude's Beauty Salon. She was a past member of Marion Business and Professional Women's Club, Hairdressers Association and Rebekah Lodge. She attended Royal Oak Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, Alice and Cleveland Peak, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Clarence Winesett; a daughter, Carol W. Barnett; a son-in-law, Russell T. Barnett; a brother, Paul Peak; sisters, Golda Tolley, Sarilda Cornett, Mary Hash, Lena DiNicola and Oma Boyles.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Sue and son-in-law, David P. Helms; grandson, Mark T. Barnett and wife Sherry C. Barnett; great-granddaughter, Alicia N. Barnett; sisters-in-law, Margaret W. Duncan and Ruby Winesett; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, April 7, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Seaver-Brown Chapel with burial at Round Hill Cemetery.
