MARION, VIRGINIA: MAXINE ELLEDGE DAVIS, age 89, died Friday, May 16, 2014 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by husband Billy Russell Davis; daughter, Lisa Long; son, Gene Davis; parents, Russell and Luzenie DeBord Elledge; and sister, Fay Pack.
Maxine was a member of the Marion Baptist Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by one son, Philip Davis and wife, Becky of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Carol Davis of Heathsville, Virginia; two sisters, Velma Cook of Bealton, Virginia and Jo Franklin, and husband, Ellsworth of Hertford, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Timothy Davis and wife Dona, and Heather Cowan; five great-grandchildren, Jamison Davis, Paige Cowan, Sloane Cowan, Leigh Ann Davis and Sarah Beth Davis; one son-in-law, Richard Long of Leonardtown, Maryland; special niece Helen Richardson and special friend, Betty Metheny both of Marion, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Stephanie Porter-Nichols officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Lawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
