Atkins, VA.
Michael Dwayne Williams age 56, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Michael was an amazing man, who was larger than life and took it by the horns. He was fearless, being intimidated by nothing or no-one and didn’t have a filter. Life was never dull if Michael was around because he always kept everyone laughing and he loved to have fun. All jokes aside, he was the protector of his family whether you were blood or not, and you were safe. He would go to great lengths to ensure that. Michael was talented in powder coating cars, mechanical work and being able to find a signal in the middle of nowhere when nobody else could. He loved ACDC, flowers, birthday parties, motorcycles, fishing, shooting guns, and using his crossbow. He was proud of his ability to bake cookies, brownies, cakes and did so often for his family and friends. Dana introduced Michael to coloring which soothed him. They would share their books and after a long day before bed they would color together and that is all he would do for hours. They also shared a love for conspiracy theories and when you thought the theory couldn’t get any crazier, Michael would make it even wilder. Michael will not be forgotten and is loved by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Putman; dad, Gerald Lee Putman, Sr.; and sister, June Lynn Andrews.
Michael is survived by his wife, Dana J. Williams; daughters, Brandy Beard and Helen Smith (Nick); sons, Kyle Beard, Chris Beard, James Smith Jr. (Annie), and Jospeh Smith; brothers, Aaron Hall, Gerald Lee Putman, Jr. (Melissa Norman), Jason Nathaniel Putman (Mary Jane) and David Scott Putman (Bobbi); six grandbabies, Lilith, Little Mikey, Mason, Maverick, Zeke, and Aleah; several nieces and nephews; dogs, Ursula and Marley; special family friends, Robert Armeadows, Randy Brina, John-Erik Williams.
