MARION, VIRGINIA: NANCY LOUISE FUNK, age 59, died Friday, April 22, 2005 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born March 18, 1946 in Saltville, Virginia to the late Clyde and Frances L. Cannon. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers.
Mrs. Funk retired from South Western State Hospital after twenty seven years of service and she attended Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, James "Jimmy" Funk of Marion, Virginia. One son, Kevin Funk and wife Lori of Wytheville, Virginia. Three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Thelma Griffiths and husband Frank of Chilhowie, Virginia, Barbara Burton of Marion, Virginia and Doris Atwell and husband Walter of Rural Retreat, Virginia. One brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie Cannon and wife Louise of Lynchburg, Virginia. One grandson, Kendall Funk. Several nieces and nephews and her special companion "Oreo" also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2005 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until the time of the service Sunday evening at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
