Neil Davis Hollyfield Jr. age 41, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023.

Davis was a kind soul with a heart of gold. Whether he was working at Glacier National Park, Big Sky in Montana, or at various restaurants in Asheville, N.C., he never went far without finding a new friend. He’d give you the shirt off his back, play you a song on the guitar, or carve something in stone, anything to make you smile or feel loved. Davis loved to cook for his family and friends, and wanted others to celebrate life. Fare thee well, Davis, we love you more than words can tell.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Claude and Patricia Hollyfield; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Catherine Sword.

Davis is survived by his parents, Dr. Neil D. Hollyfield, Sr. and Nancy S. Hollyfield of Marion, Va.; sisters, Anne Wolff Hollyfield of Cobham, England and Maren Hope Hollyfield and fiancé, Aaron Smith of Asheville, N.C.; grandmother, Carolynn Sword; nephew, Charles William Sturgill; nieces, Phoenix Pennington and Marleigh Sturgill, all of Marion, Va.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 02, 2023 from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 409 West Main Street, Marion, Va. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Reverend Emily Edmondson officiating.
