Otis LeRoy Woods

MARION, Va. Otis LeRoy Woods, Jr., age 57, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va. LeRoy enjoyed being with his family. He was a 1980 graduate of Chilhowie High School. He was the happiest in the outdoors. LeRoy loved hiking, biking, hunting and fishing. He loved his God, and was a faithful member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Independence, Va. Mr. Woods was a Veteran of Iraqi Freedom and retired from the U.S. Navy after more than 2o years of service. LeRoy loved God, his family and his country, and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis Leroy Woods, Sr. and Ruby Jean Davis Woods. LeRoy is survived by his daughter Jessica Woods; son, Justin Woods, both of Colorado; brothers, Robert Wayne Woods and wife, Tina of Sugar Grove, Va., and Jerry Allen Woods and wife, Judy of Chilhowie, Va.; sisters, Debra Elaine Dixon and husband, Johnny of Troutdale, Va., DeeDee Lynn Davis and husband, Mark of Sugar Grove, Va., Tammy Sue Cooper, and Sherry Ann Woods both of Marion, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. All services will be private with Military Rites conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667 and The U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
