SALTVILLE, VIRGINIA
Pamela Sue DeBord, age 59, passed away surrounded by her family at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon on Sunday, November 26, 2017.
She was born on December 29, 1957 in Saltville, VA to Cora "Sheila" (Henderson) DeBord and the late Mackie Vernon DeBord.
Pamela was employed with Mountain Community Action Program Inc. in Marion, with over ten years of dedicated service. She was an avid artist. Sewing, drawing, and painting were certainly a favorite pass time. She especially enjoyed painting children's faces during parades and other events in her community. Her time with family during beach trips was also a very special occasion. She thoroughly enjoyed the beach as much as she loved her family! Above all, her love for her grandchildren was her top priority. They were her life! She supported every school event they took part in, including their affiliation with the school band. Her support of her grandchildren grew to a much larger scale as she became a huge supporter of both the Northwood and Chilhowie High School bands and athletics. It is without doubt that she will be missed!
Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her mother, Cora "Sheila" (Henderson) DeBord; daughters, Shannon Fullen-Roberts and husband, Adrian Lowry of Glade Spring, VA, LeAnn Atwell and husband, Derrick of Chilhowie, VA, and Amber Sykes and husband, Zach of Saltville, VA; grandchildren, Keri, Andy, and Alec Roberts, Kayman and Bentley Atwell, and Zoey Sykes; sisters, Nina Call and husband, Rick of Saltville, VA, Kristina Broach and husband, Larry, and Morgan Jarvis and husband, James all of Chesapeake, VA; brothers, Billy DeBord and wife, Tammy of Bristol, Tenn., and Johnny DeBord of Saltville, VA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; her fiancé, Jerry Greer; and special friends, Sherri Blair and Barbara Call.
A Celebration of Pam's Life will be conducted on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, in Saltville, VA with Pastor Benny Frye officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church.
