MARION, VIRGINIA: PATRICIA WHITE STEPHENS, age 70, died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion.
Patricia was born December 26, 1939 in Smyth County to the late Leon and Lydia Greer White. She taught English at Sugar Grove and Marion Senior High School for over 40 years, retiring in 2002. She was a lifelong member of Stone Memorial Presbyterian Church in Marion; and in her retirement, joined Joyful Noise, a community choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Baker and Paul Baker.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ancil Stephens; one sister, Jewel Armstrong; one brother, J.L Baker and wife, Opal; two sisters-in-law, Ginny Baker and Wanda Baker; three step-children, Charlie Stephens and wife Malisa; Arlene Terry and husband, Charles; Linda Boyette and husband, Garry; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. John DiYorio and Reverend Walter Monroe Landers officiating. Private burial will be held in Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat.
