Paul Rucker Pedigo

July 31, 1938 – January 24, 2025

 Paul Rucker Pedigo, age 86 of Konnarock, Virginia, passed away January 24, 2025. He was born in Bassett, Virginia, on July 31, 1938.

Paul graduated from Columbia Union College in 1974 with a teaching degree. He served as a teacher for the Konnarock SDA Church and the Galax SDA Church, instructing multi-grade classes in their one-room schoolhouses. He also served in the United States Army. Paul married Betty Jean (Bray) Pedigo on September 2, 1966, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Paul had various interests, from his lifelong love of golf, which began with caddying at age 12, to his deep faith, expressed through spending time with the Lord and contributing to his church and community with occasional preaching engagements. 

He is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Mary Cathleen (Pedigo) Ordonez, husband Robert, and son Matthew; and his sons, Stephen Howard Pedigo and Jason Matthew Pedigo. 

An old-fashioned hymn-sing in his memory will be arranged for later in the spring at the Konnarock SDA Church. A graveside service with military honors will be held at the family cemetery later. His ashes will be buried in the family cemetery.
