Paxey Thomas

MARION, VIRGINIA: PAXEY "PAT" HASH THOMAS, age 85, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia. Pat was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also of the Wesleyan Sunday School class. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was known as a second mother and grandmother to many parents and children in the community. Pat graduated as Valedictorian from Oak Hill Academy in 1942. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thomas and a son, Jim Thomas. She is survived by two sons, Lynn Thomas of Marion and Don Thomas and wife, Anna Beebe; grandchildren, David Thomas and wife, Ashley all of Knoxville, Tennessee; Emily Thomas Bull and husband, James of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; and a great-grandchild, Mackensie Thomas. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mary K. Briggs officiating. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Grant Cemetery in Grant, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service.
