ATKINS, VA
Peggy Ann Blevins Atkins, age 76, died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tenn.
Peggy Atkins was a saint. She loved everybody. Peggy was the anchor in her family and always made sure they were number one and had everything they needed. Perched on her stool, and with help from her family, she would can and can and can some more. She attended the Atkins First Church of God, was a member of the Davis Memorial Methodist Church and the Atkins Ruritan Club. Peggy never complained, unless it was about the tv being too loud. And she never missed a chance to watch Song of the Mountains, Nightmare on Elm Street or Saturday Night Live with her children. The grandkids loved to watch QVC with her. The family would like to thank the staff of Smyth County, Richardson’s and Abingdon Ambulance Services, Dr. Nelson Gwaltney and the wound care staff with Bristol Regional Medical Center. Peggy was a special lady and she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nellie Blevins; son, Charles W. Atkins; half-brother, Kenneth Plummer; and special sister-in-law and best friend, Leala A Porter.
