Peggy Goodman Dean of Marion, Virginia, aged 85, passed away on November 11, 2017.
She is survived by two sons, Alan Dean of Blacksburg, Virginia, and Mark Dean of Marion, Virginia. Also surviving is her sister, Tammy Goodman Winebarger and husband Alan of Marion, a dear friend, William Ochsenwald of Blacksburg, three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Herbert H. Dean, parents Alma and Tom Goodman, sister Doris Goodman Martin, brother Eugene Goodman, and her beloved grandmother Mattie P. Hylton.
Peggy taught Sunday School at Laurel Springs United Methodist Church in Marion for around 52 years. She felt it was her life’s calling. Peggy was devoted to her family, especially her two sons, who were the light of her life.
The family thanks the staff of the third wing at Valley Health Care Center for their excellent and loving care of Peggy during the past six years.
Visitation will be held at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home in Marion from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on November 15, with the funeral and interment following at 2:00 PM at Laurel Springs United Methodist Church in Marion.
