CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: POLLY COLE, age 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior from her home on Good Friday, April 22, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. surrounded by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Clyde Campbell; daughter, Julie; sister, Carol; and step-daughter, Carolyn.
Mrs. Cole had a career as an educator and administrator at Head Start for over 30 years. She was a long standing member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dearly loved her family and church. During her illness, she worked hard to earn her Bachelors Degree from Virginia Intermont College at age 60.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Cole of Chilhowie, Virginia; one daughter, Pam Blevins and husband, Jeff of Chilhowie, Virginia; three sons, Robin Kalber and wife, Lori of Chesterfield, Virginia; Chris Kalber and wife, Renita of Marion, Virginia, and John Kalber and wife, Elizabeth of Atlanta, Georgia; two step-sons, Ronnie Cole and wife, Debbie of Waynesboro, Virginia and Kenny Cole and wife, Lori of Rowland, North Carolina; one sister, Patsy Chambers and husband, Herbert of Chilhowie, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Lucas, Zachary, Julie, Field, Kohl and Macy; nine step-grandchildren, Liv, Simon, Nathan, Aaron, Julie, Kevin, Richard, Ryan and Robert; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 8:30 p.m. at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, Atkins, Virginia with Reverend Eddie Beck and Pastor Chuck Herrell officiating. Graveside Services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:15 p.m. at Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O.
