SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: POLLY GLADYS COX EARNEST, age, 84, departed from this life to live with Jesus forever on Sunday, October 14, 2007 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her caring and loving husband W. Rudolph Earnest of 44 years of marriage; her parents, Cullen and Gladys Cox; three brothers, Robert Cox, Ralph "Gike" Cox, and a loving, caring brother at age 19, June Cox. She is survived by a loving Christian daughter, Darlene Earnest of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Earnest of Troutdale, Virginia; two sisters and brother-in law; Eva "Toots" and Elmer Jarvis of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Ann C. Jennings of Marion, Virginia; a special granddaughter, Amanda Earnest of Troutdale, Virginia; one sister-in-law, Loveita E. Hamm of Middle Town, Delaware; one brother-in-law, Dwight and wife Lillian Earnest of Florida; a special niece, Connie Cox Potter of North Carolina; a very special nephew, Danny Jarvis, wife Rhonda, and daughter Kendal of Abingdon, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2007 at the Sugar Grove Baptist Church where she was a life long member and attended church there all of the time, with the Rev. Bill Gwinn and Rev. Kenny Price officiating. Burial will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery beside her dear husband. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. At Mrs. Earnest's request, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sugar Grove Life Saving Crew, Sugar Grove Fire Department, and the Sugar Grove Baptist Church, in Care of Bill Gwinn, P.O.
