RANDALL LEE HORN, age 50, died Friday, July 13, 2007 in Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. He attended Adwolfe Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was master of ceremonies for the Smyth County Jam at the Chilhowie Lions Club, was a lover of bluegrass music, participated in the Smyth County March of Dimes, and loved the outdoors: tearing down things and rebuilding them. Years ago, he was a member of the family band, Clover Leaf Bluegrass Band, where he played the bass and sang. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis "Cissy" Horn of Marion, Virginia; parents, Emery and Pauline Horn of Glade Spring, Virginia; one daughter, Mandi Vanhoozer and husband, Will, of Marion, Virginia; two sons, Spc. William V. Horn and friend Amanda, of Fort Campbell, Kentucky and Ryan Lee Horn of Grand Blanc, Michigan; two brothers, Larry Horn and wife, Lisa of Fenton, Michigan,; Kenneth Horn and friend, Carol of Abingdon, Virginia; one brother-in-law and "good buddy", Bart Simons, of Marion, Virginia; sister-in-law, "his sister", Debbie Simons, of Wytheville, Virginia; sister-in-law, Gina Ogle, and husband, Chris, of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Desiree Blankenship, of Concord, Virginia; one grandson, Tommy Vanhoozer; one niece Rachel Horn-Kidder; one nephew, Kyle Horn. Special friend and physician, Dr. Handy. Several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Bob Surber officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Smyth County March of Dimes, P.O. Box 427, Marion, Virginia.
