MARION, VIRGINIA: RAY CALHOUN GRISSOM, age 93, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Frances Marion Manor.
Mrs. Grissom had been a very active member of the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church during her lifetime. She was born in Lewisburg, North Carolina and was a graduate of Montreat College. Her life was centered around her family, church and friends.
Mrs. Grissom is survived by her husband of 70 years, William T. Grissom of Marion, Virginia; one son, Pete Grissom and wife, Sue of Marion, Virginia; one brother, Bobby Calhoun of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Cynthia Smith; one great-granddaughter, Skylare Smith; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church with Reverend Alan Gray and Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Royal Oak Presbyterian Church.
