Ray Louis Morris age 86 , passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 at his home.

Ray loved his family and he loved to fish and hunt. If there was a creek bank or a mountain- he’d rather be there than anywhere else. Ray loved animals – all kinds; he loved squirrels, groundhogs, and about anything else with four legs. His passion was boxing – he was a boxer as a kid. Ray loved professional boxer Rocky Marciano and was just like him – he’d take a beating and he kept on going. Ray will be missed. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Hazel Morris; sisters, Wavie Colley and Geraldine Hall; infant sister, Mildred Morris; brothers, Henry, Frank and Roy Morris. 

Ray is survived by his sister, Nancy Anders; brothers, John, George, and David Morris, all of Marion Va.; several nieces and nephews and their families. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver-Brown Chapel, 237 East Main Street, Marion Va. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. with Pastor Arthur Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Cemetery, Chilhowie Va.
