Robert Davis

SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: ROBERT LEWIS DAVIS, age 72, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Born February 18, 1932 to the late Grady and Gordie Taylor Davis in Louisiana, he was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from United States Air Force following 22 years of service and was a member of the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. In addition to his parents Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Davis and a sister, Sybil Holtsclaw. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Charles Hester of Marion, Virginia. One son, Michael Davis of Sugar Grove, Virginia. One sister and brother-in-law, Helen and T.G. Causey of Louisiana. One brother and sister-in-law, J.R. and Laverne Davis of Louisiana. A loving former wife, Lucy Naomi Parks of Sugar Grove, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 10, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Donald Medley and Rev. Kenny Price officiating. Graveside Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Virginia, where military rites will be conducted by Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
