Robert Marshall McCloud, age sixty-two, passed away on December 3, 2014 at his home in Henrico County, Virginia from diabetes and kidney disease.
Robert McCloud was born on April 28, 1952 in Marion, Virginia the son of
Dr. Kemper McCloud and Aline W. McCloud of that city. In his youth, he was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle with Eagle Palms and was inducted into The Order of the Arrow the Scout's national honor society. In 1967, he presented Governor Mills E. Godwin with the Virginia Boy Scouts Report to the Governor.
A graduate of Marion Senior High School and Emory and Henry College Robert McCloud began his professional career as an auditor for The Virginia Department of Taxation. When he retired from the Department of Taxation, he was serving as a Senior Audit Supervisor.
Mr. McCloud was an active member of the West Richmond Church of the Brethren in western Henrico County. He is survived by his daughter Ashley McCloud Bardon, her husband Andre Bardon and his grandson Anthony Bardon all of Powhatan, Virginia. His two brothers David McCloud of Richmond, Virginia and Mark McCloud of Prospect, Kentucky also survive him.
Robert McCloud was preceded in death by his father, Kemper McCloud in 2011, and by his mother Aline Wright McCloud in 2002.
The family will receive visitors at the Seaver Brown Funeral Home in Marion, Virginia from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday December 8, 2014. A funeral service for Robert McCloud will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 9, 2014 at Seaver-Brown Chapel with burial to follow in the West End Cemetery in Wytheville, Virginia.
