Robert Michael Slemp

MARION, Va. Robert Michael Slemp, age 64 went home to be with his Lord Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Va. He was born October 14, 1952 in Chattanooga, Tenn. to the late R. Claude and Josephine Eller Slemp. Mike was a proud veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps and a die-hard Virginia Tech Hokie fan. Mike is survived by four sisters, Carleen Rowan and husband, Dave of Collierville, Tenn., Pamela J. Slemp of Marion, Va., Patricia Harman and husband, Jeff of Wytheville, Va. and Robin Drummond of Kingsport, Tenn.; brother, Gary Slemp and wife, June of Wytheville, Va.; nephews, Noah Slemp and Clayton Ball; niece, Nancy Hayes; and several great nieces and great-nephews. Private graveside services will be held at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Francis Marion VFW Post #4667, P.O.
