MARION, VIRGINIA: ROBERT EDWARD WOLLITZ , husband of Betty, age 77, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 7, 1929 in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Edward and Stella Wollitz. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Grace. He earned a bachelor of science and master of science degree from Montana State University. He served his country for 4 years in the United States Navy. He enjoyed his 36 year career as a biologist with the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. He was a Scoutmaster of BSA troop 92, and taught many cub scouts how to fish. His love of God was shown throughout the years in many capacities at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church and most recently teaching morning Bible study. His love of country and community by membership in the American Legion, VFW, Civitan club and volunteering for the Salvation Army. He is survived by Betty, his wife of 45 years, two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Herb Dellinger of Salem, Virginia and Patty and Gregg Johnson of Oviedo, Florida; one brother, Charles Wollitz of Goodyear, Arizona; five grandchildren Ryan Harris, Jacob and wife Amber Dellinger, and Hogan Dellinger of Salem, Virginia, Brian Johnson and Amanda Johnson of Oviedo, Florida; and one great grandchild Steven Harris of Salem, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday, December 31, 2006 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 222 West Main Street, Marion, Virginia or at any time at the home.
