Roger Lee Russell, age 74, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Carrington Place in Rural Retreat, Va.

Roger was born in 1944 to the late Neal and Blanche Blevins Russell. After receiving his G.E.D. he began his work career and retired as a very well accomplished electrician for Brunswick, American Composites, and General Dynamics. Above all else, Roger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Linda Russell; brothers, Bobby and Dan Russell; step-son, David Russell; and granddaughters, Kelsey and Kayla O’Dell.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Tammy Thomas and husband, Ricky of Marion, Va.; step-son, Edwin Russell and wife, Annina of Abingdon, Va.; grandsons, Jacob and Jordan Thomas both of Marion, Va.; granddaughter, Erian Russell of Abingdon, Va.; step-grandson, Sean Greer of Marion, Va.; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved pets Sugar and Ben.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Carrington Place at Rural Retreat.

Private graveside services will be held at Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Va.
