Ronnie "R.J." McGrady

MARION, Va.

Ronnie “R.J.” McGrady, age 76, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at his home.

R.J. was born January 31, 1946 in Smyth County to the late James and Ebby McGrady. He was retired after many years at counter sales for NB Handy Company. R.J. enjoyed playing golf and watching football – especially the Minnesota Vikings.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ellen Campbell McGrady; brothers, Robert Preston McGrady and James David McGrady.

R.J. is survived by five brothers, Marshall (Pam) of Glade Spring, Va., Steve, John, Joe, and Terry (Janice) McGrady all of Marion, Va.; several nieces and nephews and their families; special friends Van and Kim of Tenn., Robert Weaver, Jay Majethia, Lisa Perry, Jeff Casey, Joey Casey and John Parks; many close friends and golfing buddies; and his cat Buster.

At R.J.’s request, there will be no services.
