MARION, Va.
Ronnie Powell, age 77, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Smyth County Community Hospital.
Ronnie was a loving husband, who made Barbara look good. He loved his kids and the ones who called him Papaw. Ronnie loved to joke and give everybody a hard time. He retired after 34 years of working at the State Hospital where he made many friends. Ronnie especially liked his tv time, Young & The Restless to Westerns; reading, UT football, the 49’ers, St. Louis Cardinals and he was a huge fan of Marion football. In true Ronnie fashion, “if you don’t understand it, I will bring it down for you” – Ronnie had a great life and will be missed.
