MARION, VIRGINIA: ROY C. TRAIL, age 90, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Carrington Place of Birdmont at Wytheville, Wytheville, Virginia. Born December 5, 1915 in Smyth County, Virginia, to the late Joe and Cosby C. Trail he worked for Frank Ford and Joe Bass in construction until he started his own construction company. He was an electrician and carpenter and built schools and houses until his retirement. In addition to his parents, Mr. Trail was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine S. Trail; one son, O. Lynn Trail; one daughter, Mamie L. Trail-Edmisten; three brothers, Eddie, Harry, Mack Trail; three sisters, Ovella Ferguson, Larie Thomas, and Agnes Havens. He is survived by one son, Arnold Trail and wife, Debbie of Marion, Virginia; Four daughters, Vera Haga and husband, Wayne of Christiansburg, Virginia, Lana Volgyi and husband, Laddie of Richmond, Virginia, Becky Davis and husband, Philip of Missouri, Kay Hartsock and husband, Harold of Marion, Virginia; Two sisters, Noni Atwood of Marion, Virginia, and Polly Joy of Atlanta, Georgia. Ten grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Sherri Trail; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Frances and Roger Bales of Marion, Virginia and David and Arlene Brewer of Bland, Virginia. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 24, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity.
