MARION---- Ruby Osborne Guy, 85, died Friday, May 8, 2009 at her home following a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Grover and Lura Little Osborne; sisters Blanche Blevins, Pearl Blevins, and Violet Lefler; brother Elmer Osborne; and two other siblings who died in childhood. A graduate of Barrack High School in Washington County, she worked in an airplane manufacturing plant in Baltimore during World War II and later worked at the Marion Harwood plant for 27 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was active in its Food and Fellowship program. She also was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Marshall Guy; her children Shirley Spencer and Mike and Margaret Guy, all of Marion; her sister, Ethel Earls of Bluefield; her grandchildren, Marcy Rosenbaum and her husband David, Cole Spencer and his wife Paula, Jay Guy and his wife Lynne and Jeff Guy, and fiancé¬ Jessica Williams; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Allison Rosenbaum, and Peyton and Garrett Spencer; and special caregiver Mary Ball. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Jonathan Jonas officiating. Burial will be Monday, at 11:00 a.m. in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Seaver Brown Chapel. Memorial Gifts may be made to the First United Methodist Church Food and Fellowship Program, 115 South Church Street, Marion, Virginia 24354 Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
