ATKINS, VIRGINIA: RUBY MAE OSBORNE JOHNSON, age 90, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt; died on February 21, 2013 at Springtree Health & Rehabilitation Center, Roanoke, Virginia.
The widow of John R. Johnson, Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Sugar Grove High School. She retired in 1995 with 20 years of service in the Housekeeping Department at Southwest Virginia Mental Health Institute.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Josephine Johnson of Blanchester, Ohio; Johnny and Suzie Johnson of Atkins; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma and Vince Brown of Cary, North Carolina; Karen and Harry Simmerman of Hardy; daughter Freda Johnson of Staunton; her sister, Ruth O. Gullion, of Marion; sisters-in-law, Opal Johnson, of Roanoke; and Akiko Johnson of Elkton, Maryland; ten grandchildren; Anthony, Adrienne, Jonathan, Aaron, Eric, Rosa, Kara, Will, Jesse, and Abbey; seven great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia with Reverend Don Hackney officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
