TROUTDALE, VIRGINIA: RUBY ASHLEY PLUMMER, age 88, widow of Thomas Cole Plummer, died Saturday, July 10, 2004 in Smyth County Community Hospital. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Lynn Plummer and Joan Martin, and a son, Bryan Plummer. She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Dan Harvey of Woodbine, Georgia; Patsy and Bill Mooney of Madison, North Carolina; Darlene and Bobby Marshall of Madison, North Carolina; Ellen and Ray Brewer of Troutdale, Virginia; and Colene Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia and special friend, Harvey Johnson of Sugar Grove, Virginia. Five sons and daughters-in-law, Barney and Lena Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia; Roger and Loraine Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia; Jack and Bonita Plummer of Lawsonville, North Carolina; Ray and Nonnie Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia; and Bobby and Carla Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia. Three sisters, Georgia McClure of Jefferson, North Carolina; Lena McClure of Jefferson, North Carolina; and Kathleen McClure of Holtwood, Pennsylvania. Eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Tim Boyette, Rev. Ken Riggins, and Rev. Dusty Widener officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery, Rugby, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
