Ruth Hayes

MARION, VIRGINIA: RUTH WOODS HAYES, age 85, died Tuesday, October 03, 2006 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was a longtime member of the Valley View Baptist Church. Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by her two husbands, James W. Woods and James S. Hayes and two sons, James "Jim" Woods and Edward "Ed" Woods. She is survived by one son and three daughters-in-law, Kenny and Karen McFadden Woods of Sugar Grove, Virginia, Carolyn Woods of Marion, Virginia, and Sally Woods of Kentucky; Seven step-daughters, Mary Dutton, Shirley Powers, Irene Wyatt, and Judy Hopkins all of Marion, Virginia, Jane Mays of Churchville, Maryland, Pauline Kirk of Catlett, Virginia, and Stella Maharg of Newark, Ohio; One step-son, Roy Hayes of Sugar Grove, Virginia. Ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, twenty-one step-grandchildren, thirty-one step-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Roger Frost and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Pugh Cemetery in Sugar Grove, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
