Ruth Leonard

MARION, VIRGINIA: RUTH MARTIN LEONARD, age 80, passed away Monday, June 6, 2005 at her home in Marion, Virginia. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church and was retired as an administrative assistant with the Virginia Employment Commission. She was preceded in death by her parents, John James and Lena Osborne Martin; her husband, John Gilbert Leonard; and a son, Donald R. Leonard. Mrs. Leonard is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth L. Baker and husband, Larry of Lancaster, South Carolina. One sister, Mary Martin Fox of Marion, Virginia. Two brothers, John James Martin, Jr. and Roy Osborne Martin both of Marion, Virginia. Three grandsons, Benjamin Baker of Alpharetta, Georgia; John Baker of Columbia, South Carolina; and Daniel Leonard of Knoxville, Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Ray Johnson Family. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
