SUGAR GROVE, Va.
Samuel Lewis "Sam" Louthen, age 61, passed away Thursday, May 09, 2019 at his home.
Sam was a true family man. He was a loving husband and amazing father. Sam loved being outdoors and when he wasn't working at Sam's Auto Repair, he'd be fishing or working in the garden. Sam loved working on cars and spent more than 30 years fixing them; and if it had a motor, he liked it. He enjoyed racing on the dirt track or in a go-cart. Sam was the kind of guy everybody liked, knew and went to for all things "Sam". He'll be missed by his family, friends and community.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Corvin Louthen; brothers, Charles, Willis, and Calvin Louthen; step-brothers, Thomas and Billy Louthen; step-sisters, Virginia Wright, Alma Lanier and Jean Watkins.
Samuel is survived by his wife, Jackie Louthen of Sugar Grove, Va.; daughter, Carolyn "Punkie" Boyd and husband, Bobby of Abingdon, Va.; sisters, Patricia L. VanHoy and husband, Charles of Marion, Va. and Alice K. Berry of Chilhowie, Va.; brother, Cecil "Donnie" Louthen and wife, Annie of Sugar Grove, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and close family friends, Anthony, Angie, and Jacob Corvin.
Special thanks to New Century Hospice of Wytheville for taking such good care of the family.
