MARION, Va.; Shirley M. Blevins, age 70, went home to reunite with her husband of 28 years, Harold Jean Blevins, Monday, May 16, 2016.
Shirley was born on January 3, 1946 to the late Robert Lee Widener and Mary I. Privett. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Brenda Woods. Shirley will be remembered for a strong work ethic. She loved to shop and she loved to dance. Above all she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Sherri Tuggle of Saltville, Va. and Kimberly Michelle Blevins and husband, Ronnie Martin; very special grandson, Logan Blevins, all of Marion, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Delp and husband, Brady of Sugar Grove, Va. and Rhonda Thompson and husband, Jessie; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Blevins and husband, Herbert Teaster, all of Marion, Va.; sister-in-law, Sharon Crigger of Atkins, Va.; brother-in-law, Wayne Woods of Marion, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
