Shirley Ann “Bobbie” Louthen Mabe age 87, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Va.

Bobbie was the essence of good. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who enjoyed being with her family more than anything. Bobbie loved reading her Bible. She had read it through many times. She loved church and playing the piano, and helping anyone who needed her. She will be missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin L. Mabe; parents, Joseph and Annie Louthen; brothers, Sherman, Tony, Bill and Nacy Louthen; sister, Christine Baker.

Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Mevie Smith; son, C.A. “Tony” Mabe, all of Marion, Va.; sisters, Vada Kirby of Marion, Va., Katherine Louise Louthen of Chilhowie, Va.; brother, Campbell Louthen and wife, Hazel of Bristol, Tenn.; granddaughter, Sarah Jones; great-grandchildren, Brynn Jones and Jaxxon Crawley; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 1, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Fraziers’ Seaver Brown. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Blake Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Va.
