Shirley Snider

MARION, VIRGINIA: SHIRLEY NAFF SNIDER, age 76, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia. Shirley was born March 23, 1935 in Wythe County, Virginia to the late Walter and Emma Lou Heldreth Naff. She was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church and the Smyth County Historical and Museum Society. Shirley was a very giving person who loved her church, family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, E.M. Snider, Jr. and her sister, Betty Lou Naff Cress. She is survived by two sisters, Joan Naff Norris and husband, Dallas of Troutville, Virginia and Becky Naff Branson of Wytheville, Virginia; one brother, Bill Naff and wife, Betty of Marion, Virginia; one brother-in-law, Roy Cress of Charlottesville, Virginia; nieces and nephews, Kim Lancaster, Lee Cress, Sherry Moran, Joe Naff, Shannon Naff, Jill Wells, Neil Norris, Charlene Wheeler and Robert Branson; several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Lutheran Church with Reverend Andrew Bansemer officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
