SPEEDWELL, VIRGINIA: SHIRLEY BROWN THOMAS, age 72, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who was dedicated to the Lord. Shirley will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickey Sheffey. Shirley is survived by her husband Gene Thomas; daughter, Anita Ratcliff; son, Tom Thomas and wife, Pam; brother, Everett Brown, all of Speedwell, Virginia; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Jerry Bell officiating. Private burial will be in Groseclose Chapel Cemetery in Speedwell, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
