SIBYL GAULTNEY VAUGHT, age 87, of Edgewood, MD, died on March 31, 2007 at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD. One of eleven children, she was born in Rugby, VA, the daughter of the late Lee Preston and Ruth Weaver Gaultney and wife, for 36 years, of the late James C. Vaught. She worked in several hospitals in Marion, VA as a practical nurse. An avid gardner, she enjoyed bluegrass music and family get togethers. She also enjoyed sewing, going to church, reading and bingo.
Mrs. Vaught is survived by two sons, James L. Vaught and his wife, Marian, of Edgewood, MD and Donald M. Vaught and his wife, Wayna, of Abingdon, MD; two brothers, Max Gaultney of Bullhead City, AZ and Fred Gaultney of Havre de Grace, MD; two sisters, Dawn Duggan of Churchville, MD and Kaye Sells of Volney, VA; five grandchildren, Sharon Rigor of York, SC, Debra Gardiner of Bel Air, MD, Chris Vaught of Engleside, MD, Melissa Maxwell of Charlotte, NC and Cathy Whitten of Joppatowne, MD; eleven great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the McComas Funeral Home, P. A., Abingdon, MD on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 11 a.m., in Roselawn Cemetery, Marion, VA, with Rev. Bill Davis of Pocahontas, VA.
