MARION, VIRGINIA: STELLA MAE BILLINGS KIRK, age 92 died peacefully at her home Monday, February 01, 2010, surrounded by her family.
Stella was the oldest active member of Valley View Baptist Church and attended until her health gave way. She was a friend to all and her home was always open to everyone. She loved the Lord and is now home with Him to rejoice evermore.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Kirk, infant son, Jackie Joseph Kirk, son Roger Lee Kirk and her mother and father Ezekiel and Gladys Billings.
She is survived by three sons, James R. "Jim" Kirk and wife Anne of Speedwell, Virginia; Elmer Edward Kirk and wife Sandy of Marion, Virginia; Richard Allen "Rick" Kirk and wife Diana of Mannasses, Virginia; three daughters, Mary Gladys "Sis" Call and husband Walter of Marion, Virginia; Geraldine Vencill and husband Ted of Sugar Grove, Virginia, and Shirley Parks and husband Glenn "Corky" of Atkins, Virginia; eleven grand children; twenty six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Addie Klemke and husband Bob of Nebraska and Bessie Beavers of Hinton, West Virginia; four brothers, Herbert Billings and Robert Billings, both of Squire, West Virginia; Ed Billings of Bishop, Virginia; and Ezekial Billings Jr. of Darlington, Maryland. Also surviving are a host of special friends including Doris Sheets, Mildred Holland, and others to numerous to mention; special caregivers; Linda, Felicia, Barbara, Nancy, Lana, Jill, Shirley and Teresa.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church with Reverend Roger Frost officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirk Family Cemetery in Sugar Grove, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia or at anytime at the home.
