MARION, VIRGINIA: STEPHEN PAWLYK, age 90, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia.
He was born in Auburn, New York to the late John and Kristina Pawlyk. He served his country as a member of the Army, 792 Bomb Squad from 1942-1945. During that time he flew a B-29 Bomber which he named "Ready Betty". Stephen was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and was retired from Harwood Manufacturing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Bonnie "Jeanne" Howard.
Mr. Pawlyk is survived by his wife, Bonnie Pawlyk of Marion, Virginia; sister, Helen Benda, of Del Ray Beach, Florida; granddaughter, Bonnie Mae Walls and husband, Jackie of Whitetop, Virginia; grandson, Raymond Howard of Chilhowie, Virginia; two great-grandsons, Michael Walls and Maverick Howard; one great-granddaughter, Barbara Lyle and husband, Mark; two great-great-granddaughters, Roxy Walls and Della Walls; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside Services will be held, Monday, January 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
